Along the way, we’ve developed some pretty clear ideas about what expert advice should look like – and how it should be delivered.
In 2024, we founded Prism and put those ideas into practice.
More than 20 years in financial services gives you a fair share of perspective. I’ve worked with some brilliant people, learned just as much from some of the others, and seen markets boom, crash and everything in between.
I started with HSBC, where I spent 12 years, before moving to Countrywide – then the UK’s largest property services group and mortgage brokerage – for a further five. I later co-founded my first independent brokerage before launching Prism with Megan in 2024.
For me, expert advice starts with taking the time to understand the person in front of me – where they are now, what they’re trying to achieve and what really matters to them. That’s the foundation. From there, I can fully explore the possibilities, drawing on my experience and industry connections to find the most suitable and cost-effective way forward.
Today, advice should be personal, straightforward and easy to access. Technology should make the experience more convenient and efficient, but it’s the relationship that matters most.
I want my customers to know I’m there when they need me – not just when there’s a mortgage application on the go.
Outside financial services, my background is a little less conventional.
As a teenager, I was involved with Swansea City’s youth teams and, after university, I spent several years as a signed musician and music producer.
I’ve found that a creative mind can be just as useful in financial services – whether that’s thinking differently about a customer’s circumstances or where we take Prism next.
Mortgage and protection advice suits the way I think: it’s people-focused, detail-heavy and there’s always something to work out. More than a decade into the job, that’s still the part I enjoy most.
I started my career with HSBC, later spent several years advising within a large national mortgage brokerage, and then moved into independent advice. In 2024, my partner Adam and I set up Prism.
People come to me at all sorts of stages – buying their first home, moving, remortgaging, borrowing more or reviewing their protection as their circumstances change. I like getting into the detail of a case, working through the options and seeing things through. I keep things moving and stay involved until everything is in place.
I work with customers across the UK – from as far south as Cornwall to as far north as Inverness. I love the variety that working with people in different parts of the country brings. My appointments are held by video or telephone, which means people can fit advice around work and everyday life without needing to travel to an office.
I first came to Swansea from Yorkshire for university, and it’s been home for just over 20 years. I live here with Adam and our two cats, Malcolm and Axl. I’ve been running since university and it’s become a big part of my life. I’ve completed numerous half marathons and the London Marathon twice, and more recently I’ve taken on Hyrox. I enjoy the physical side of training, but just as much the headspace it gives me – if I’m trying to work something out, a run is often when I get the chance to think it through properly.
